The following network adapters have been tested successfully.

This is our recommended USB adapter for both 1st and 2nd Generation ZigBee Networks. There are some additional features within the Digi USB XStick device that the application makes use of.

Programmable XBee Zigbee (RPSMA Antenna)

The Xbee connects directly with the GPIO interface on the Raspberry Pi. A USB interfacing board can also be used to convert the Xbee into a USB adapter. Available with several different antenna configurations. Nominally, the same device as the XStick, but with additional noise monitoring capability.

There are several variants of this device, but the software is compatible with any with a product code starting with XB24CZ or XB24DZ.

ConBee, 2.4 GHz USB ZigBee Gateway

Together with the Dresden Electronics Rasbee, this was one of the first devices that we tested, in early 2017. The devices had not been on the market very long, at least in the UK.

RaspBee premium - ZigBee addon for Raspberry Pi

The Raspbee connects directly with the GPIO interface on a Raspberry Pi. Nominally, the same device as the Conbee.

Together with the Dresden Electronics Conbee, this was one of the first devices that we tested, in early 2017. The devices had not been on the market very long, at least in the UK.
